What amazing teachers they have here. Yesterday we studied the differences of joy and happiness, and then took a field trip and saw illions and billions of different things. Seven Arches, Haas Promenade, Augusta Victoria Presbyterian German Hospital and Church (That's a group of us singing hymns in the chapel.)
I've never heard hymns sound better. The echo lasted for like 4 seconds, and the spirit there was amazing. We also went and saw the Dier Mas Mosque (where the prophet's Samuel's shrine is and Jews and Muslims can come in peace together to worship. There was a group of Jewish men worshiping underneath. (here's the hallway up to the roof of the mosque)
The culture is bursting at the seams here. There is so much to do, and see, and watch...and watch out for. I love it.
Today was fast sunday (or Saturday) so we had an amazing sacrament meeting and sung hymns and bared testimonies while looking out over the whole city of jerusalem. The sacrament meeting room is just three monstrous arches of glass that you look out to. It's hard to look at the speakers when they're so much beauty all around. (No that they're not beautiful..but you know what I mean).
The city has so much feeling and energy with it. I'm trying to take it all in but I just feel so lucky to be here among such amazing people.
I can't to learn from these students I get to be around for the next 2 months. It feels like I've known a lot of these people forever, and you can definitely feel of their greatness. I've never been to a better church meeting. Oh! And Truman Madsen came to church. Crazy good. What a great day.
