The First Visit to the Tomb

After church we all grabbed our security phones and badges and headed down into the city. The city is full of hills and valleys and honking cars everywhere. I've never seen so much things worn on people's heads in my life. We avoided some dangerous muslim gates and went to the place where some think the Savior was buried and crucified. (The garden tomb). It's really hard to try and express the images and feelings there on this measly blog. I can't believe how real Christ really is. Calvary, and the garden tomb are things people talk about so often in their life, and you hear about from day one. But to actually see it with my own eyes just makes my heart feel so full. I'm so lucky to have the knowledge that I do. There was so many different tourists and religions there. There was a huge group of amish-looking minninites and then a whole other group taking their own version of the sacrament out of basket. Other people praying, some singing. I love this place. I just love it. I love my Savior. I love that so many people are effected by Christ is so many different ways and that He is a God who knows us so individually. A group of us are going back on Tuesday afternoon when it's less crowded and having scripture study. Good thing the church makes the quad-type scriptures so we can have a book of mormon. Otherwise of the two seperate books all we can take are the bible.
On the door it says, "He is not here, for He has risen."
