Goliath, Samson, & All in Between!

After the dirtiness of all the cave holes... clothes were stretched and dirty. Most fun in a long time. I was dying that Ben, Tay, and Jeff weren't with me. They'd of loved it.

Aubrey, Kelly and Matt through a little hole in the caves..They were called the Micah caves and were the coolest things I've ever been in. They were used during the Bar-Kochba revolt. The jews were hiding from the romans in these birth canal size small tunnels all over this mountain. There are so many holes all over that you can just go forever. We had an hour of free time to just explore and spelunk all over these cool caves climbing up down..squishing through holes and sliding on our bellies. We came out so brown and dirty and our clothes were loose and torn. We loved it.

When I say going through little holes..I mean it.. It was so fun.

We went to so many old tombs of kings and romans... It really is like I'm living in my own history book. There's no need for school books, because I'm living in them.

In front of where they kept the sarcophogus's. Us almost acting like dead people...

The columbarium. The greeks kept millions and millions of pidgeons here for sacrificial purposes and fertilizer for their crops. Seriously, millions and millions. The underground building is shaped like a cross and it's 3 floors high of pidgeon holes where the pidgeons were kept..

In the field where David and Goliath took place. I can't believe I'm really standing there. It doesn't seem real sometimes because it's stories you've heard your whole life and now I'm standing right here. Right in the area where it happened. We tried to improve our David slingshot techniques...Because they handed slingshots out to the group after we re-told the story in details and read it in the scriptures right there on the spot. I just love being here. I'm trying to soak up every second.

These people are amazing. Here is a soulmate Kelly. I just love her a lot.

My roommate Aubrey and I laughing. The valley of Elah where David and Goliath fought.

Sheep just on the side of the road where we were.

In some underground houses made by Romans.

Here's us in front of where Samson used to live. Up on that hill back there behind us, and in this valley is where that whole story took place. Here Matt and I are cutting my roommate Aubrey's hair to help act it out...and to remember where we are. So many cool facts.

Here's a video of us in the caves. It may be hard to see, but it was so fun.
Hallelujah.

hihihi. Wow, great blog post, how long have you been blogging? 15 years? Since the womb? Great color scheme you have going there, I like how it's neutral and doesn't side with either the Israeli or Palestinian side of the conflict. I love the pictures of us spelunking, and also the one of us dying about to lie in our tombs. Touching. Can I have them sometime?
